World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction
The World of Beatrix Potter™ brings the stories of Peter Rabbit™ and all his friends to life in a magical indoor recreation of the Lakeland countryside complete with sights, sounds and even smells. You can explore Mr. McGregor's garden, visit Mrs. Tiggy-winkles's kitchen and learn more about Beatrix Potter herself in the Tale of Mrs. Heelis presentation. The Beatrix Potter Emporium and Tailor of Gloucester Tea Room make this a place for all the family to visit - whatever the weather.

Windermere Lake Cruises
Steamers and launches sail daily throughout the year between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside with seasonal connections for Brockhole, the Steam Railway, Fellfoot and Ferry House. Wine Cruises and JazzBuffet Cruises operate during the summer. 45 minute island cruises sail everyday from Bowness.

Times of opening: Open daily during daylight hours throughout the year except Christmas Day.

Hayes Garden World, Ambleside
Set amidst beautiful Lake District scenery, one of Britain's finest garden centres is a must for any family outing. Housing one of the North's largest selectiond of plants, garden furniture and leisure products from around the world, Hayes Garden World is sheer inspiration.

Times of opening: Monday - Saturday 0900 - 1800, Sunday 1100 - 1700. Closed 25 December, New Years Day & Easter Sunday.

The Dock Museum Barrow-in-Furness
The Dock Museum is a stunning modern museum built over an original Victorian graving dock. Exhibits include spectacular ship models, computer interactives, film show and "Shipbuilders to the World" exhibition. Landscaped coastal site. Adventure playground. Free admission and free car parking.

Aquarium of the Lakes, Lakeside
Set on the banks of Lake windermere, the award-winning Aquarium of the Lakes is the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish. Over 30 spectacular displays cleverley re-create the journey of a Lakeland river from mountain-top to the open sea. Naturally-themed habitats are home to everything from diving ducks and mischievious otters to sharks and rays. With its lake view cafe and gift shop it's an unbeatable all weather experience for all ages with a special Lakeland Explorer Trail for children to enjoy.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park
Europe's top Tiger Conservation Centre and Cumbria Tourist Board's official attraction of the year for both 1999 and 2000. This open conservation zoo is well known for the freedom the animals enjoy. You can walk through Madagascar and be surrounded by wild lemurs or hand feed kangaroos and emus in the Australian bush. With rhinos, tigers, lions, bears, giraffes, cheetah, apes and monkeys, it is the regions best all day attraction.
