Dining
All food at The Waverley is home made by Chris, Chef Proprietor and served
in our light and airy non-smoking dining rooms. We always use freshest
ingredients from local suppliers such as Clayton's of Windermere, a traditional
old-style butchers in the village that has been supplying the local area
with fine meats for the last century. Other regular suppliers are Brian
Todd Bacon sales and English Lakes ice cream a very high quality producer.
So you can be sure you are getting the very best Lakeland has to offer.

Menu
"Can't
wait to return to your glorious food" and "Spa bath great -
breakfast even better" "loved the food - will be back"
are just a few comments in the visitors book in the last few weeks!
The memorable
breakfasts are included in the price. Evening meals are equally as memorable
and priced at £13.95 two courses or £16.95 three courses.
Dinner is served most evenings 6.30 / 7.30 with the exception of Sunday
- chef's night off!
All dinner orders must be placed by 5pm on the day due to the fact that
all food is prepared to order. A sample menu is HERE
so you can see what's on offer for the 2008 season.
"King
Henry"
Lakeland Lamb Henry (Henrietta for the smaller appetites) is a very popular
dish at the Waverley, it is a shoulder cut of Lakeland lamb roasted very
slowly in red wine with various fresh vegetables and herbs then served
with a rich redcurrant and mint gravy. Another very popular dish is the
pan-fried chicken breast with a tangy orange and tarragon sauce.
Along with the menu there is a Specials Board available with the fish
of the day and other traditional dishes to suit the season.
Vegetarian and special diets are catered for on request. Alison will cook
anything required.
Puds
are on a traditional theme with the likes of fruit crumble, steam syrup
sponge and apple suet pudding being very popular: but not forgetting Alison's
very own Sticky toffee pudding & toffee sauce with homemade custard!
As well as some lighter choices of desert you can enjoy freshly ground
coffee and Kendal mint cake in our cosy lounge.
Breakfast
The Hearty Lakeland breakfast at The Waverley is legendary. You can choose
from eggs cooked your favourite way i.e. fried, scrambled, poached or
boiled. Bacon we have English smoked or plain, there is a choice between
pork, beef, vegetarian or Clayton's famous award winning Cumberland sausage.
Clayton's also make the black pudding to the same old recipe handed down
through the generations for the last hundred years, as well as white pudding
made to an old Irish recipe.
Then there's tomatos, mushrooms, baked beans and not forgetting fried
bread (not for the faint hearted) to choose from or why not have the whole
lot! To see full menu click HERE.
