Location:
Perhaps one of the biggest attractions of The Waverley is its location. You simply couldn't be better placed to enjoy the whole of the Lake District, whether you explore by car, train, bus or on foot. We are literally three minutes from the bus and rail station. Lake Windermere is fifteen minutes walk, and the fells and woodlands can be reached within ten minutes. We are also centrally situated for Beatrix Potter and Hill Top. Wordsworth at Grasmere and Hawkshead are both within easy reach. Walks too numerous to mention are all easily accessible from The Waverley where the car can be left behind in the safety of our own car park.

How to find us:

By Road
Windermere is situated in the heart of the Lake District and is easily reached from the M6 motorway. From Exit 36 follow the signs for Kendal/Windermere (A591). On approaching Windermere take the second left (Elleray Road) and then first right into College Road. We are 200 yards on the right.

By Rail or Bus
Windermere has a combined Rail and Bus Station which is three minutes walk from the Waverley. As you exit the station turn left onto High Street and follow the right fork. Cross straight over the next intersection into College Road. We are 200 yards on the right.

By Air
Manchester Airport is the closest airport to Windermere and is about 1.5 hours away by car. As you leave Manchester Airport follow the M56 West to the M6 Northbound and then follow the directions above for By Road.
