Lake Shore Ramble - approx 2 hours

Click Here or on the map for a larger, printable map.

Leave the Waverley on College road and head out of Windermere turn left onto the A591.

Passing St Mary's Church turn left on to a footpath that will take you down to the A592 Rayrigg road, sign posted Queen Adelaide's Hill.

Cross over the road and follow the footpath down through the wood and along the lake shore.

This will bring back on to the A592/Rayrigg road, turn right and follow the road into Bowness.

Here you can bourse around the old village with its many shops and restaurants, also the world of Beatrix Potter exhibition at the old laundry theatre.

Head down towards the lake out of Bowness and you will pass by the steamer piers, follow the lake round onto Glebe road.

Passing the pitch and put turn left on to Rectory road. This will take you back in to the village.

Head back up into Bowness this time up Crag Brow towards Windermere, when you reach Helm road on your right hand side you can take a short detour to Biskey Howe viewpoint, well worth a visit on a clear day.

Back on the walk follow the main road all the way back to Windermere.
